Please see information below on North Herts Councils Sustainability Strategy.
In May 2019, the council passed a climate emergency motion. This declaration asserted the council’s commitment toward climate action beyond current government targets and international agreements. We also declared an Ecological Emergency in July 2023 to recognise the seriousness of ecological crisis and ensure that nature recovery is a priority for the council.
Sustainability is one of our four priority areas of the Council Plan 2024-2028. To align with this key priority, we are replacing the existing Climate Change Strategy 2022-2027 and developing a wider Sustainability Strategy. This strategy will encompass many areas of sustainability, including emissions reductions, climate change adaptation and biodiversity.
This survey will give you the opportunity to give your thoughts on the following proposed topics and associated actions.
The consultation is running until 5pm on 31 March.
We value feedback from everyone, including residents, businesses, our partners, and anyone who holds an interest in the future of North Herts. We’d love to hear your feedback on our draft Sustainability Strategy (2025-2030). Help us meet our climate targets and work with us for a positive and sustainable future for North Herts and let us know your thoughts!
